V grade to Font conversion
In The Summit Social's grade table, V3 is Font 6A, V4 is Font 6B, V5 is Font 6C and V6 is Font 7A. The table has 17 levels and not every grade, so read each match as rough. Checked 29 October 2026.

Read it as rough
The BMC says grades are subjective to both the climber and the route setter and are hard to standardise, and that grades should feel similar from wall to wall for the most part. A boulder can feel different from the chart.
What the chart leaves out
The app's table has 17 levels, so some grades, such as Font 6A+ and V11, have no row of their own. The four easiest levels are left out because none of them has both a Font and a V-Scale label you can pick in the app. The chart matches Font to V-Scale only. Route grades are a different scale for a different kind of climb.
